1.3million candidates so far registered for 2025 UNEB exams


KAMPALA .

A total of 1,372,015 candidates have so far registered to sit national examinations conducted by Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb).


According to a June 13 statement issued by the national examining body , of the 1,372,015 candidates , a total of 809, 384 are Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates, 404,682 are Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) candidates , while 157,949 are Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) candidates. These three categories of candidates usually sit their final exams between October and November every year .

According to Ms Jennifer Kalule –Musamba, the Uneb Principal Public Relations Officer , all candidates who have not yet registered have up to this Sunday June 15 to complete registration .

“The Uganda National Examinations Board hereby informs Heads of Primary and Secondary School Examination Centres who have not yet dully registered all their learners, to do so before the midnight hour of Sunday 15th June, 2025,” she said

Candidates registering for PLE are supposed to pay Shs34,000, Shs 164,000 for UCE , and Shs186,000 for UACE
She said learners who miss registration will fall in the category of late registration which usually attracts a surcharge.
“Heads of Centres of Government Aided schools are advised to ensure that all their learners are fully registered during this period because the government will not pay the surcharges.” she added
