LYANTONDE . Police in the central region district of Lyantonde are investigating the suspected murder of a 15-year-old student
The deceased Meble Nankinga was a student at Kyemamba CDC Secondary School
According to police preliminary investigations on the night of September 1, 2025, at around 10:00 p.m., Nankinga reportedly left her parents’ home and went to Kyemamba Trading Centre, where she is believed to have spent the night at the rented residence of her boyfriend, identified only as Isaac.
On the morning of September 2, her parents discovered that she had not returned home and began searching for her in the trading centre. At around 10:00 a.m., they received information that she had been seen at Isaac’s residence. On arrival, they were shocked to find their daughter lying dead on the bed inside the house.
The incident was immediately reported to police. A case of suspected murder was registered, and officers visited and examined the scene. The body was conveyed to Lyantonde General Hospital for postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
The suspect, Isaac, fled the scene and is currently on the run. Police have launched a hunt to arrest him.
In a statement on Wednesday , Mr Kasirye Twaha, the southeren regional police spokesperson , confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are ongoing.
