Free at last: NUP’s Abdullah Kiwanuka released from Police Custody

Kawempe Police Station on Sunday evening released on bond Hon. Abdullah Kiwanuka Mulimamayuni member of Parliament for Mukono North, who was arrested after concluding campaigns for Kawempe North by election.

It was reported that Kiwanuka was arrested by security officers in plain clothes over unclear circumstances and later detained at Kawempe Police station.

This triggered off anger among the people who he were with him during day at counsel Nalukoola Luyimbaazi’s campaigns on Sunday and they decided to start a social media campaign pushing for his immediate release.

Later on , it was revealed to the public that he had been detained at Kawempe Police, where he was forced to change his red overall with NUP symbols to other clothings.

In late hours, Kiwanuka posted on his social media platforms that finally he has been released on bond.
