Express Football Club secured a resounding 4-1 victory over Wakiso Giants in a Uganda Premier League match held at Hamz Stadium on Monday night. The game, preceded by a moment of silence for the late Vipers player Abubakar Lawal, saw Samuel Ssenyonjo become the star of the night with a spectacular hat-trick.

Ssenyonjo opened the scoring with a penalty in the 15th minute after Richard Basangwa was fouled. Despite missing a few chances in the first half, Express led 1-0 at halftime. Wakiso Giants fought back in the second half, with Moses Oloya scoring a stunning volley in the 65th minute to equalize.

However, Express quickly regained control. Basangwa scored a decisive goal to restore their lead, and Ssenyonjo added two more goals in the closing minutes, completing his hat-trick and sealing the win. This marks the first hat-trick at the redeveloped Hamz stadium.

The victory propelled Express FC to 6th place in the league standings with 28 points, while Wakiso Giants suffered their 9th defeat and remain in the relegation zone.
