A team of over 1200 Boda boda operators has arrived in Dubai for a three day Spiro conference intended to multiply the number of electric bikes in a bid to protect the environment.

Boda boda Union Brand Manager Fred Ssenoga, while addressing the delegation at the Continental Hotel in Dubai he has hailed the Spiro team for spearheading this event and accomodating this number of people.
He says that the major agenda for this gathering according to Spiro founder & Chairman Gagan Gupta, also the Chairman, founder, and former Managing Partner of Equitane is to improve people’s livelihood.
The Spiro1200 conference was organized by Spiro electric bike company in conjunction with Boda boda Union an amalgamation of Ugandan transport comuters, including Boda boda riders, txi operators and bus operators

The Uganda Taxi Operators Federation UTOF Spokesperson Biringi Mawejje says that this trip is to elevate the Uganda transport industry to elevate to hydro consumption than petroleum as a way of protecting the environment. He says that this conference is to elevate the taxi industry from commuting to transporting 14 passengers to 18 26 and over 60 transporting with electric cars than petrol.
