Muslim Leaders Urge Faithful to Fulfil Zakat Obligations Ahead of Eid

Director of Communications and Research at the Office of the Supreme Mufti based at Kibuli MosqueDr. Muhammad Musoke Kiggundu has called on Muslims to complete their charitable obligations as the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end.

Kiggundu Musoke, who is also a senior religious leader, encouraged believers to strengthen their faith by fulfilling Zakat al-Mal, describing it as a way of purifying one’s wealth and commitment during the sacred period.

With only a few hours remaining before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, another cleric, Muhammad Nsereko, delivered a final Ramadan message at the mosque in Kampala. He noted that the fasting period had been marked by strong devotion and unity among believers, reflecting spiritual growth across the community.

He further urged Muslims to ensure they fulfil Zakat al-Fitr before the official announcement of Eid by the religious leadership later in the day.

The leaders emphasized that acts of charity and continued devotion remain essential even beyond Ramadan, as the community prepares to mark the joyous occasion of Eid.
