Government through the Ministry of ICT signs a memorandum of understanding with China to create over 50,000 ICT jobs

The Government through the Information and Communication Technology ICT Ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Health Industry foundation to encourage smart agriculture technology and improve information Communication technology.

The MOU has been signed at the Ministry of internal affairs on Parliament avenue in Kampala according to the Ministry of ICT Permanent Secretary Amina Zawedde this MOU is to improve people’s livelihoods because it involves outreach programs for both countries to learn from each other and encourage mindset change among Ugandans in particular which will in the end promote patriotism.

She has underscored that the ICT Ministry is coming up with a policy to popularize the use of ICT in our daily and normal life citing introducing a formal formula for the usage of ICT.

The Chief Executive Director of Prince Kimbugwe Foundation Edward Kimbugwe says that the memorandum of understanding will not only create mindset change among Ugandans but it’s to introduce new technologies to promote smart agriculture in a bid to abandon the traditional way of farming.
