
As part of ongoing administrative measures to improve judicial efficiency and service delivery, the Judiciary has transferred 28 Judicial Officers at the ranks of Registrars and Magistrates and also deployed two new Magistrates Grade I.
The transfers, made in accordance with Public Service Standing Orders, are aimed at strengthening the administration of justice across various judicial stations.
The Chief Justice, Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny – Dollo, welcomed the decision, emphasizing its role in addressing staffing gaps and ensuring that justice is delivered effectively. He urged the transferred officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in their new stations. “Let the people see and feel the justice that we have committed to delivering under the new Judiciary,” he said.
The Acting Chief Registrar, Her Worship Pamella Lamunu Ocaya, who effected the transfers on March 14, noted that the redeployments were carefully undertaken to ensure optimal utilization of judicial resources while maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the system. She affirmed that the Judicial Officers are expected to assume their new roles immediately.
Her Worship Lamunu also expressed appreciation for the dedication and service of the transferred officers at their previous stations and extended her best wishes for their success in their new assignments.
The transfers have seen Her Worship Prossy Katushabe who has been the Registrar Judicial Training Institute moved to the High Court. Additionally, three Deputy Registrars have been assigned key registries to manage. His Worship Angualia Moses Gabriel is now in charge of the Inspectorate of Courts, Her Worship Bucyana Lillian now moves to the Judicial Training Institute as in-charge of the Registry while Her Worship Agnes Alum takes on the Registry of Magistrates Affairs and Data Management.
