Tayebwa Commends Badogi’s Petition Withdrawal

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, has praised Hajji Ismail Badogi Waguma for his decision to withdraw the election petition against Hon. Kungu Samuel Bamuteeze, the Member of Parliament for Kigulu North Constituency in Iganga District.

Tayebwa described Badogi’s move as a gesture of unity and maturity, noting that it strengthens cohesion within the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and promotes stability in the Busoga sub-region. Badogi, who serves as the NRM treasurer for Iganga District, voluntarily stepped back from the legal challenge, a decision Tayebwa said reflects loyalty to the party’s principles and vision under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

He further encouraged other NRM members with pending electoral disputes to resolve their differences amicably outside court, emphasizing dialogue and harmony as the best path forward for the party and the communities it represents.
