Arsenal must come from behind in Paris to reach the Champions League final

Arsenal must fight back in Paris after a 1-0 defeat to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League semi-final first leg at Emirates Stadium. Ousmane Dembele’s goal just four minutes in gave PSG a crucial lead, leaving Arsenal with a tough task to reach the final in Munich.

Dembele scored from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass, stunning the home crowd. PSG dominated early, with Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya making a key save to deny Desire Doue. Despite Arsenal’s efforts, PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was unbeatable, stopping shots from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. A potential Arsenal equalizer by Mikel Merino was disallowed for offside.

PSG nearly extended their lead late on, but Bradley Barcola missed, and Goncalo Ramos hit the bar. Arsenal struggled to create chances, with PSG controlling star winger Bukayo Saka. The French side, who previously beat Manchester City, Liverpool, and Aston Villa, showed why they are favorites to win their first Champions League title.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains hopeful, citing their past victory against Real Madrid. However, PSG’s attacking stars and solid defense make them a formidable opponent. The second leg in Paris next Wednesday will decide who faces Inter Milan or Barcelona in the final.
