The family of the Spires hailing from Kalisizo Village ,Kyotera District is mourning the sudden death of their own who mysteriously died on Sunday .
Dr John Bosco Spire Kiggundu is the director and proprietor of Henrob Hospital in Zzana ,on the outskirts of Kampala City .He is an elder brother of Makerere University don , cartoonist and political commentator Dr Jim Spire Ssentongo .
After the sad news of Dr Kiggundu started to spread on social media on Sunday evening ,Dr Ssentongo posted on X(formerly Twitter) saying: “I announce the sudden passing of my brother ,Dr John Spire Kiggundu of Henrob Hospital –Zzana ,heir to our father,”
According to police preliminary investigations contained in a statement issued on Sunday evening , Dr Kiggundu was found dead at Dreams Guest House located in KKB Cell, Kajjansi Town Council at 2:5pm.
The police statement reveal that unidentified lady entered the guest home room at 17:47 hours( 5:47pm)and spent like an hour in the room till 18:54 hours (6:54pm).
“At 18:53hours (6:53pm) she moved out of the room and went back again in the room .Upon leaving ,she was seen moving out with a polystyrene bag with unidentified items ,but was never seen entering with the bag according to the cameras in the Guest House,”
It is not clear how Dr Kiggundu met his death and the intention of his killing . It is also speculative on whether the said lady/woman is the one who killed Dr Kiggundu or was just an accomplice .
Burial programme :
According to Dr Ssentongo , there is requiem Mass at Lweza Parish at 1pm today (June 23) ,and another mass at Henrob Hospital at 4pm the same day .
Vigil is underway at the deceased’s home in Zzana .
On Tuesday , the family and friends will travel to their ancestral home in Lusaka ,Kyotera District for another vigil and burial will take place on Wednesday at 4pm.
