Kampala, July 18, 2025 — The Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI), in partnership with Turkish investors from the Africa Friendship Association, hosted a high-level Business-to-Business (B2B) breakfast meeting at the Sheraton Hotel Kampala, aimed at expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

The event brought together over 100 Ugandan companies in key sectors such as dairy, poultry, vegetable produce, olive products, sunflower oil, wheat flour, pasta, bottled water, energy drinks, hygiene products, and nutritional supplements. The forum provided a platform for Turkish investors and Ugandan entrepreneurs to engage in meaningful dialogue and business matchmaking.

During the session, UNCCI President Olive Kigongo extended her appreciation to the Turkish delegation, acknowledging their commitment to opening new business avenues for Uganda’s private sector. She urged local SMEs and companies to embrace the opportunity and actively explore the Turkish market.

Prof. Semsettin Turkan, Chairman of the Africa Friendship Association and leader of the Turkish delegation, encouraged Ugandan businesses to take advantage of market access to Turkey, specifically referencing quality Turkish brands such as Erpilic Happy Center and Camlic Bolca.

In a broader gesture of cooperation, Prof. Turkan also highlighted the Turkish Government’s annual offer of 500 education scholarships to African students. He called on Uganda’s business community to help raise awareness of these opportunities for students struggling with school fees.

“We thank the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce for this opportunity to connect with Uganda’s business community. These engagements are crucial for deepening economic collaboration and people-to-people ties,” said Prof. Turkan.

The B2B meeting marked a significant step in strengthening economic relations between Uganda and Turkey, as both sides expressed commitment to long-term cooperation and sustainable trade growth.
