Nabbanja intervenes in addressing grievances for RDCs and RCCs

Rtd Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister has order Hon Milly Babalanda to closely follow the law wherever she is handling issues of Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs).
“I have received several concerns from the Resident District Commissioners , Resident City Commissioners and the general public over transfer of RDCs and RCCs by the Minister for Presidency. I find this irregular because the mandate to appoint and transfer RDCs and RCCs lies with H.E. The President as stipulated in Articles 99 and 203 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.” Reads Nabbanja’s letter dated 20th January 2025 addressed to Minister for Presidency.

Nabbanja further emphasized that only H.E.the President has the mandate to appoint and transfer RDCs and RCCs , but the Minister can only perform the task upon instructions of the President.

The same letter was copied to the President, all Cabinet Ministers, all Ministers of State, the Head of RDCs/ RCCs Secretariat, Office of the President.
