Vivo Energy Uganda Champions Safer School Kitchens at Headteachers’ Conference

Vivo Energy Uganda has showcased its Shell Gas cooking solutions at the annual Headteachers’ Conference held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, drawing attention to the importance of safe and sustainable energy in schools.

The exhibition was part of the four-day gathering of education leaders from across the country, which is to run  from August 25 to 28, 2025. Through its display, Vivo Energy emphasized the need to transition from traditional biomass fuels to cleaner and more efficient alternatives that can reduce health risks, cut costs, and protect the environment.

The initiative highlights the company’s commitment to improving learning environments by addressing one of the often-overlooked challenges in schools unsafe cooking methods. By introducing modern gas solutions, Vivo Energy hopes to reduce reliance on firewood and charcoal, which are still widely used in many institutions despite their harmful effects.

The Headteachers’ Conference provided an opportunity for school leaders to explore innovations that not only improve welfare but also support broader national goals of sustainability and environmental conservation. Vivo Energy’s intervention underscored the link between energy choices, student wellbeing, and educational outcomes.
