Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi out of danger after surviving motor crash in Sembabule


LWENGO. Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi, the deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Enterprise Corporation, the financial arm of Uganda Peoples Defense Forces(UPDF) on Saturday survived a motor crash along Sembabule –Kanoni –Gomba Road .


The motor crash reportedly happened at Kabango Village as the former Deputy Inspector General of Police was traveling in a black Toyota Land Cruiser H4DF 282 back from a giveaway ceremony of President Museveni’s granddaughter, Nsasiirwe Keinembabazi Karugire in Sembabule District .


According to responders, Gen Muzeyi was traveling with his wife in the car . Their ill-fated car was left crushed beyond recognition after being involved in a crash with a truck carrying cattle Reg No. UBO 982A . A few hours later , Gen Muzeyi and wife were airlifted to Kampala to undergo specialized treatment .


Both the police and Army were by Sunday morning yet to issue statements about the crash . But close friends in the Army say Maj. Gen. Sabiiti is now out of danger.


“Gen Muzeyi is now stable and responding well to treatment at Nakasero Hospital ,” one security source said, “ There is no cause for alarm ,he will be fine , the doctors are doing their work”
Gen Muzeyi is a senior officer in the Army –UPDF .
A graduate of the prestigious National Defence College in Kenya, he has held key command roles including Commander of the Military Police and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) from 2018 to 2020.


His redeployment back to the UPDF in 2020 saw him take on strategic assignments in the army’s leadership development programmes. Quick recovery General!
