Navio Orchestrates History: MTN to Power Hip Hop Meets Symphony Concert

Ugandan rap icon Navio is set to break new ground with his first-ever orchestra concert, an ambitious production that will be powered by MTN Uganda. The event, dubbed the Orchestra Experience, is scheduled for October 4, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel and will mark the artist’s 10th major showcase.

The concert promises to be a unique fusion of hip hop and live orchestral music, signalling a fresh chapter in Uganda’s live entertainment. It will also be Navio’s debut at Serena, a venue renowned for hosting high-profile performances.

At the official launch, MTN Uganda announced its sponsorship of the show, describing the partnership as a commitment to supporting creativity and innovation in the country’s music industry. Company executives hailed Navio for consistently redefining Ugandan hip hop and said the orchestra performance would give fans an unforgettable experience.

Navio, born Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, expressed excitement about the new project, noting that after nine concerts, he wanted his tenth to be unlike anything fans had seen before. “This is about showing how far Ugandan music has come and how far we can take it,” he said.

The rapper is widely regarded as a pioneer of Ugandan hip hop, first rising to prominence as a member of Klear Kut before embarking on a solo career that produced hits like NgaloBugumu, and One & Only. Over the years, he has cemented his place as one of Africa’s most respected hip hop artists, blending Luganda and English lyrics with a powerful stage presence.

Tickets for the Orchestra Experience will be sold in different tiers, ranging from standard to exclusive platinum packages, giving fans a variety of options for what is expected to be a historic night for Ugandan music.

With MTN’s backing, the Orchestra Experience is more than just a concert, it is a bold experiment in blending genres, raising production standards, and showcasing how corporate support can drive the growth of Uganda’s creative industry.
