DUBAI — Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced the launch of the Rashid Villages initiative, a global humanitarian project honoring the memory of his late brother, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed.
The initiative aims to provide underprivileged families around the world with housing, education, and healthcare, ensuring a dignified and stable life. The first village will be developed in Kenya, with a new model village to be built every year thereafter.
“Sheikh Rashid was a man of great compassion. Today, his generosity continues to change lives and bring hope to many,” Sheikh Hamdan said while unveiling the project.
The announcement was widely welcomed across the globe, with many praising the Crown Prince for turning his brother’s legacy into a living force for good.
“This was my dream. I still pray to Allah to give me this opportunity… Allah is merciful and for Him nothing is impossible. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds,” said Nika Aliyeva, expressing gratitude and hope.
Another supporter, Corine Palierse, described the initiative as “a beautiful tribute and an action of deep love… rich in powerful emotions. May God protect You, Your Highness.”
Others highlighted the broader impact of the initiative. “Honoring Sheikh Rashid’s legacy through such meaningful work is profoundly moving. By focusing on housing, education, and healthcare, it restores not just basic needs but dignity, hope, and opportunity to countless families,” one commenter noted, adding that true leadership is measured by how many lives are uplifted.
The Rashid Villages stand as a testament to Dubai’s enduring message that generosity knows no borders and giving is a way of life.
