


KAMPALA. The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) Election Management Committee has reviewed the petitions filed by some of the party members who missed the party tickets ,recalling some tickets and confirming others .
In Bukomansimbi North Constituency , the EMC has returned the ticket to the incumbent MP Christine Ndiwalana ,withdrawing it from Christopher Kayongo Engagga ,while Betty Ssentamu ,a sister of party President Robert Kyagulanyi ,who held the flag in 2021 election, has snatched it from former TV show host Flavia Namulindwa .
In Mityana South Constituency , the party has withdrawn the flag from Fred Kintu and gave it to Kevin Nalwoga while in Bukoto Central Constituency , Alex Ntamu has snatched the flag Jamil Kivumbi who had earlier been endorsed .Mpigi District Woman MP Teddy Nambooze has also been confirmed as party flag.
Other party stalwarts who had petitioned EMC protesting the withdraw of the tickets from them have vowed to stand as independents . These include; Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana , Medard Segoona(Busiro East ) , Aloysius Mukasa (Lubaga South ) ,Joyce Bagala( Mityana District Woman MP) ,Hanifah Nabukeera (Mukono District Woman MP) among others .
In a statement on Monday night , EMC said all successful candidates are now free to proceed to take their nomination forms to the party headquarters for endorsement .
“Note, apart from a few exceptional cases where no successful candidate has been announced, candidates from all regions are encouraged to bring their forms on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October ,2025 ,8:30am to 4:00pm)” the statement reads in part .
