KABALE.The Director of the Chief of Political Commissariat Ubaldo Banunoba has urged police officers in Kigezi Sub region to step up efforts in addressing the worrying rise in murder cases in the area , many of which result from domestic violence.
“ I reminded you that community sensitization is key and that the Child and Family Protection Unit, together with the Community Liaison Department, must be fully utilized to help de-escalate such conflicts,” he said while meeting police officers during his sensitization and ideological orientation programme in the Kigezi Sub-region on Thursday

He tasked the commanders to strengthen both foot and motorized patrols to reinforce security while deepening collaboration with sister security agencies and other stakeholders, especially given Kigezi’s position as a border region.
“I commended our officers for their commitment to maintaining law and order. However, I emphasise the role of force multipliers in investigations, particularly through close work with the judiciary in case conferencing, to ensure professional handling of cases, convictions, and the restoration of public trust,” Mr Obaldo said

He further stressed the importance of intelligence-led operations, guided by a strong command structure, for effective crime prevention and management.
“You must have a positive attitude, beliefs, and mindset so that together, we fulfil our mandate of protecting and serving all Ugandans with humanity and professionalism” he added
