Jacinto Kibuuka, Archbishop of the Antioch Orthodox Church at Mamre International Prayer Centre, has cautioned the public about the dangers of drug abuse and excessive alcohol consumption, warning that they often contribute to rising cases of violence.

While leading Way of the Cross prayers at Namugongo Janda in Wakiso District, he strongly condemned a recent incident involving a man identified as Okello, who allegedly attacked four children at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre. The bishop suggested that such acts are often linked to substance abuse, which can fuel domestic violence and broader criminal behavior.
In his message, Bishop Kibuuka also called on religious leaders, cultural authorities, political figures, and heads of families to use the Easter season as an opportunity to promote harmony, responsibility, and peaceful coexistence within their communities.
