Britam Uganda has retained its Top Employer Africa 2026 certification for the second
year running by the Top Employer Institute, reinforcing the company’s focus on
building a people centred workplace across its African operations.
This follows an independent assessment of Britam’s human resource practices,
leadership culture, employer wellbeing initiatives and talent development
frameworks. The certification is regarded as one of the most rigorous benchmarks
for workplace excellence globally.
Britam officials said the renewed status reflects sustained investment in employees,
emphasising growth, inclusion and a supportive work environment. The company
operates across several African markets, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and
Mozambique, with a shared focus on empowering staff to thrive professionally and
personally.
According to the company, key areas highlighted during the evaluation included
leadership development, employee engagement, wellbeing programmes and efforts
to create an inclusive workplace culture. These initiatives, Britam noted, are central
to its long term business strategy and organisational performance.
Tom Gitogo, Britam Group Managing Director and CEO, said the consecutive
certification demonstrates consistency in the company’s people first approach and
the dedication of its workforce across the continent. He added that the achievement
serves as motivation to continue strengthening policies that support employee
growth and wellbeing.
The Top Employer Africa status places Britam among a select group of organisations
that meet high standards in human capital management and organisational culture.
Industry observers say maintaining the certification for a second year signals stability
and credibility in an increasingly competitive labour market.
For Britam, the recognition not only strengthens its employer brand but also
underscores the role of people focused leadership in driving sustainable business
growth across Africa’s financial services sector.
