A delegation from the China United Nations Health Industry Foundation, led by Chairman Huang Chunxiao, has arrived in Uganda for a feasibility study aimed at identifying opportunities to add value across key sectors, including agriculture, with the goal of boosting job creation.

The team was received at Entebbe International Airport by State House attaché for research Muwonge Charles Ssebatya, working alongside the Prince Kimbugwe Foundation.

According to Muwonge, who also serves as Presidential Private Secretary for Research, the delegation will assess sectors such as education, agriculture, and technology to explore investment opportunities that could help tackle unemployment. He added that the government is planning to establish a one-stop center to facilitate business collaboration between Uganda and China.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Prince Kimbugwe Foundation, Edward Kimbugwe, said the visit will include the signing of memoranda of understanding with different industries. These agreements are expected to support the development of additional industrial parks, with a strong emphasis on advancing smart agriculture practices.

Kimbugwe further noted that the delegation plans to introduce power generation technologies, particularly in solar and hydro energy, to support sustainable development.

The Prince Kimbugwe Foundation is a non-governmental organization focused on promoting socio-economic empowerment, currently championing smart agriculture to increase productivity while minimizing land use and energy consumption.

During their four-day visit, the delegation is scheduled to tour the Ministry of Energy and agricultural institutions, as well as engage with members of the business community.
