The Church of Uganda has announced a new partnership with Crown Financial Ministries International, aimed at empowering households with financial literacy, stewardship training, and sustainable farming practices.
The collaboration was introduced during a leadership meeting at the Daniel Uganda Missional Centre in Lweza, where Church of Uganda leaders met Crown Financial’s Chief Executive Officer Chuck Bentley. The gathering was held alongside a four-day workshop that brought together Household and Community Transformation Coordinators from all 39 dioceses.
Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, flanked by senior church officials, said the partnership reflects the Church’s vision of equipping believers not only spiritually but also economically. “We want God’s people to be empowered to steward resources wisely and build livelihoods that are resilient,” he noted.
The initiative will roll out programs such as “Farming God’s Way” demonstration farms, training of trainers, and financial literacy sessions designed to strengthen families and communities. Media campaigns and storytelling will also be used to highlight successful models of transformation.
This latest step builds on a five-year Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier in 2025 between the Church of Uganda and Life International, which focused on strengthening family life and safeguarding the sanctity of human life. With Crown Financial Ministries now on board, the Church aims to widen its scope to include economic empowerment, savings culture, and responsible investment.
Chuck Bentley urged local church development officers to start with what they already have. He outlined five stewardship principles working diligently, giving generously, saving for the future, spending wisely, and investing honestly as cornerstones for building stronger households.
Church officials believe the partnership will foster holistic transformation, combining faith, family, and financial stewardship to uplift communities across the country.
