KAMPALA – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a final reminder to heads of examination centers across the country to ensure all eligible candidates are registered for the 2025 national exams. These include the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
In a statement released by UNEB, the Executive Director, Mr. Dan N. Odongo, emphasized that Thursday, July 31st, 2025, marks the official deadline for registration. He called on school administrators to act swiftly to register any remaining candidates to prevent students from missing out.
“Center heads are strongly encouraged to use the time left to complete registration for all learners who are due to sit for this year’s exams,” Mr. Odongo noted.
So far, more than 1.4 million students have been registered, reflecting a 6.8% rise compared to last year’s figures. UNEB is focused on ensuring every candidate is accounted for and that their registration details are correct.
Following the registration, schools will be required to publicly display candidate lists on school premises, allowing students and guardians to verify both registration and data accuracy. UNEB will also offer an SMS-based system to facilitate easy confirmation.
“No student eligible for this year’s exams should be excluded,” Mr. Odongo stressed.
