Ecobank Uganda Strengthens SME Support Through Consultative Forum

Kampala, Uganda –

Ecobank Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by hosting a high-impact SME Consultative Breakfast Forum at the Sheraton Hotel, Kampala. The event brought together over 80 key SME clients and Ecobank executives, fostering dialogue on business challenges and showcasing tailored financial solutions.

The workshop underscored Ecobank’s dedication to empowering Uganda’s SME sector, which contributes 80% of the GDP and 90% of the private sector workforce. With an estimated 1.8 million informal businesses led by women and youth, the bank emphasized the need for targeted financial solutions to spur sustainable growth.

During the forum, Ecobank highlighted key initiatives, including:
✅ “Ellevate” – A program dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs.
✅ “Ecobank Single Market Trade Hub” – A platform facilitating cross-border trade within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The interactive session provided attendees with valuable networking opportunities while enabling them to explore how Ecobank’s solutions can drive business expansion.
