Equity Bank Uganda is leveraging the 37th Annual Uganda North America Association (UNAA) Convention to deepen its connection with Ugandans living abroad, unveiling a suite of financial services designed specifically for the diaspora.
As one of the event’s key sponsors, Equity Bank is hosting dedicated interactive sessions at its booth providing attendees with expert guidance on diaspora account setups, cross-border remittances, investment packages, and digital banking tools. Bank officials, including Head of International Banking Winfred Wanjiru, are leading discussions on financial empowerment and entrepreneurship.
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with UNAA and continue walking alongside Ugandans living abroad,” remarked Wanjiru. “Through this sponsorship, we reaffirm our commitment to providing innovative financial solutions that empower the diaspora to invest back home while staying connected to their families.”
The bank’s presence spans all convention days, with staff on hand to support delegates seeking to explore property ownership in Uganda, innovative savings instruments, and advisory services to navigate investment opportunities no matter their global location.
This initiative forms part of Equity Group’s broader diaspora banking strategy, underpinned by the recent approval of a representative office in the United Arab Emirates. The move underscores the bank’s ambition to extend its reach across East Africa and beyond.
By spotlighting tailored financial pathways at UNAA 2025, Equity Bank Uganda is signalling its intent to bridge distance and foster meaningful economic connections between the diaspora and Uganda.
