KAMPALA. This year , National Social Security Fund savers are set to receive 13.5 percent interest on their savings , the Ministry of Finance has announced .
Speaking at the NSSF’s 13th annual members meeting at Serena Hotel , Kampala on morning , Mr Matia Kasaijja , the Minister for Finance , said the proposed pay out amounts to Shs2.79trillion .
According to NSSF records , savers contribution has increased by 10.4 percent from Shs1.93 trillion in Financial Year 2023/24 to Shs2.13 trillion in Financial Year 2024/25.
In Financial Year 2024/25 ,NSSF paid out Shs1.32 trillion ,up from Shs239billion in Financial Year 2015/16. The number of savers paid has also increased from about 15,000 to about 48,000 in Financial Year 2024/25 .
The minister commended NSSF management for ensure a clean balance sheet .
