KAMPALA. Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has promised to preside over an efficient, accountable, and pro-people government if elected president in the January polls .
Himself a leader in Busigu Cooperative Union ,Mafabi pledged to revive cooperative financing and improve service delivery across the country
“ Ugandans deserve better services — quality healthcare, good schools, better roads, and fair taxes,” Mafabi told cheering supporters. “For too long, people have paid heavily but received little in return. My government will change that.”he said while campaigning in Syanyonja in Buhemba Sub-county, Namayingo District.
He pledged to revive key financial institutions such as the Cooperative Bank and Agricultural Bank to support farmers and small businesses.
“We will return money to the people through cooperative financing,” he said, adding that rural communities must be empowered to drive national development.
FDC Electoral Commission Chairman Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, who accompanied Mafabi on the campaign trail, described him as the “best candidate” to unseat President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming polls.
“Looking through his CV, Nandala stands out. He has served 25 years in Parliament, chaired the Public Accounts Committee, and led the Opposition with integrity,” Bamwenda said.
“He is a lawyer, accountant, and financial expert who has worked with the World Bank. Uganda needs a leader of his caliber.”
