Felicite Nson Takes the Helm at Uganda Breweries as First Female Managing Director

Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has appointed Felicite Nson as its new Managing Director, making her the first woman to hold the top position in the company’s history.

Her appointment, announced on 25 September 2025, follows the leadership of Andrew Kilonzo, who has been at the helm since 2022. Kilonzo will remain in post until the end of September to ensure a smooth handover.

Nson brings with her more than two decades of senior leadership experience in the beverages and fast-moving consumer goods sectors. She previously served as Managing Director at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL), where she was credited with driving strong financial performance and market growth.

She also held senior positions with MTN and Coca-Cola, giving her a wealth of expertise in corporate leadership, marketing, and operational management across Africa.

UBL Board Chairman Jimmy D. Mugerwa welcomed her appointment, describing Nson as “a seasoned leader with the right blend of experience and vision to steer UBL into its next chapter.” He praised her leadership at GGBL, noting that the company achieved impressive revenue growth under her tenure.

Nson takes over at a time when UBL is looking to expand innovation in its product lines, strengthen sustainability initiatives, and deepen community engagement. Her appointment is being hailed as a milestone for gender inclusion in Uganda’s corporate sector, inspiring more women to aspire to executive leadership roles.
