Kampala, Uganda – Social commentator and businessman Frank Gashumba has ignited conversation after revealing that his daughter, media personality Sheila Gashumba, has never used a taxi in her life.
Speaking during a talk show on Radio 4, Gashumba emphasized his commitment to ensuring his children enjoy a life of comfort and privilege. He explained that from an early age, he prioritized providing Sheila with a luxurious lifestyle, shielding her from experiences such as public transport.
“I swear upon Allah, she has never used a taxi in her life. For the fewest times, maybe she used a van to go to school at Kabojja, but that’s not a taxi,” Gashumba stated. “She has also only used the Scandinavian Express bus once for a trip.”
Clarifying His Statements
Anticipating criticism, Gashumba was quick to clarify that his remarks were not intended to show off but rather to share facts about his parenting journey.
“When I say this, people think I am showing off, but these are facts. I personally have used taxis uncountable times,” he added.
His comments have since sparked a wave of discussions on social media, with many debating the realities of privilege and parenting in Uganda. While some applauded his dedication to providing for his children, others argued that experiencing public transport is a crucial part of personal growth.
As the debate continues, Sheila Gashumba remains one of Uganda’s most influential young media figures, with a lifestyle that continues to capture public attention.
