
The House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda, has elected Rev. Canon Associate Prof. Grace Lubaale as the 4th Bishop of Busoga Diocese.
According to a statement of the Provincial Secretariat, the House of Bishops ,Prof. Lubaale will be consecrated and enthroned on December 14, 2025, at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja City.
Born on October 9, 1978, in Bugombya Zone, Butansi Parish, Kamuli District, Prof. Lubaale gave his life to Christ in December 1994. He was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Kampala in 2008 and priested in 2009. In November 2024, he was installed as Canon of Education and Training at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala.
Dr. Lubaale is married to Clare Louise Atuheirwe, and together they are blessed with four children.
A seasoned theologian and academic, he holds a PhD in Development Studies, a Master of Arts in Theology, a Master of Arts in Development Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education.
Prof. Lubaale’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the continued spiritual and administrative leadership of the Busoga Diocese.
Earlier in the day, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, commissioned the Provincial Tribunal, tasked with handling disputes within the Church.
The Tribunal first underwent an orientation session led by Justice Mike Chibita of the Supreme Court.
