Housing Finance Bank Runs with Hope: Shs100m Pledge to Transform Schools in 2025 Hills Run

Housing Finance Bank has once again thrown its weight behind the NSSF Kampala Hills Run, announcing a Shs100 million contribution to the 2025 edition. The annual charity run, set for October 12 at Kololo Independence Grounds, aims to raise funds for renovating public primary schools across Uganda.

The bank’s renewed commitment follows last year’s successful partnership that saw classroom blocks constructed in eight schools, improving conditions for thousands of learners. Organizers now target Shs1.5 billion in 2025 to benefit 10 schools countrywide, offering safer and more dignified learning spaces for over 10,000 pupils.

Michael Mugabi, Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank, described the initiative as a collective movement that goes beyond athletics.

“This Run is not just a race; it’s a movement of hope, unity, and transformation. At Housing Finance Bank, we believe every child deserves a safe space to learn, dream, and thrive,” he said, underscoring the bank’s focus on sustainable development and youth empowerment.

The 21-kilometer race will wind through Kampala’s iconic hills, encouraging physical fitness and mental wellness while uniting Ugandans around a shared cause. Since its launch, the Hills Run has supported more than 15,000 learners, refurbished 60 classroom blocks, and boosted school enrolment while reducing dropout rates.

With this new sponsorship, Housing Finance Bank reaffirms its mission to invest in education and community empowerment, ensuring children across Uganda have the foundation they need to succeed.
