
His Highness the Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom Willliam Gabula Nadiope IV has graduated with a Master of Advanced Studies in Global Affairs from the prestigious Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University ,USA.
The graduation ceremony took place on Tuesday,according to Ms Yudaya Babirye, Minister for Kyabazinga Affairs.
“His Majesty’s academic triumph is a beacon of hope and inspiration for our kingdom and beyond,” she said
Ms Babirye said this degree will undoubtedly enhance Kyabazinga’s impact on development initiatives, from fighting malaria to addressing hydrocephalus.
“This Master’s degree will undoubtedly amplify His Majesty’s impact on critical development initiatives, such as his tireless advocacy against malaria, his efforts to combat teenage pregnancies, and his commitment to addressing hydrocephalus in our region,” she said.
The Kyabazinga’s academic journey is a testament to his dedication to knowledge and service. Prince Wanume Paul, a lecturer at Uganda Management Institute (UMI), noted, “The Kyabazinga’s commitment to education proves that knowledge knows no bounds of status or title.”
This latest academic achievement places him among notable global leaders who have studied at Yale, including Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and current U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. The program was awarded to the Kyabazinga on a full-board, merit-based scholarship from Yale University.
The Kyabazinga thanked his wife, Queen Mutesi, for her unwavering support during his studies. He wrote on X, “Your love anchors me, and your strength shields me… This degree is as much yours as it is mine.”
The Kyabazinga’s family academic legacy has been a source of inspiration. According to Palace sources, the Kyabazinga draws academic inspiration from his distinguished parents: his late mother, Josephine Mpata Nadiope, was a Water and Environmental Engineer from the University of Florida (USA), and his father, Prof. Arnold Wilson Nadiope III, earned a Doctorate from George Washington University, Washington D.C.
The graduation ceremony was attended by distinguished members of the Busoga Royal Family, including Her Royal Highness, the Inhebantu (Queen) Jovia Mutesi Nadiope, who was a steadfast pillar of support for His Majesty throughout his academic endeavors in the United States.
