KAMPALA.
Renowned marketer Juliana Kagwa has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).
Kagwa replaces Ms Lilly Ajarova, who took up a new role as senior presidential advisor after serving as CEO since January 10, 2019.
Kagwa brings on board nearly 20 years of experience in leadership and brand strategy to the role. Before joining UTB, she served as Group Sales and Marketing Director at Seed Co Group, a South African-based company, and previously held the position of Director of Corporate Relations at Diageo.
In her new role, Kagwa will be tasked with steering the growth and development of Uganda’s tourism industry, positioning the country as a competitive and sustainable global destination, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Her appointment is expected to inject fresh energy and strategic focus into the sector. With a solid track record in brand building, regional leadership, and stakeholder engagement, Kagwa is widely regarded as a strong fit to lead the UTB at this pivotal time.
