Kampala – Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, Uganda’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, recently welcomed Mr. Luo Heng, Chairman of Kehong Uganda Industrial Development Ltd., for discussions on the progress of the China-Uganda Agriculture Cooperation Industrial Park in Luwero District.

During the meeting, Mr. Luo outlined key achievements at the industrial park, including advances in agricultural mechanization, growth in poultry production, expansion of chili exports, and farmer training initiatives aimed at improving productivity.

He also presented plans for a proposed USD 300 million expansion. Central to the proposal is a five-million-layer hen integrated production chain designed to strengthen Uganda’s poultry value chain from breeding to processing. The delegation requested government support in the form of tax incentives, infrastructure improvements, and reliable electricity supply, as well as high-level participation during the park’s upcoming 10th anniversary celebrations.
Rt. Hon. Kadaga commended the project’s contribution to agricultural modernization and job creation, and pledged to engage relevant government authorities to support the initiative’s continued growth.
