The Katikkiro (Prime Minister) of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has praised the crucial role of the clergy and traditional institutions in communicating with and serving the community. His comments came during a meeting with a delegation from the West Buganda Diocese, led by the newly appointed Bishop Gaster Nsereko, who paid a courtesy visit to strengthen ties with the Buganda Kingdom.

In his address, Katikkiro Mayiga emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two institutions, highlighting that both play vital roles in nation-building and community development. He particularly acknowledged the clergy’s contribution to fostering unity and advancing social progress.

Bishop Gaster, accompanied by his wife, children, and senior clergy members including Canon Mpuuga, Rev. Antony Latamba, Dicon Rev. Con Tobert Matovu, and Cons. Lubega, expressed his appreciation for the Katikkiro’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic development of the Kingdom.
The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the Buganda Kingdom and the church in promoting the welfare of the people.
