KAMPALA.In a dramatic turn of events ,Kira Municipality Mayor Julius Nsubuga ,has announced his exit from opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) and joined the newly formed Peoples Front for Freedom ([PFF].
This comes just days after Nsubuga lost the NUP ticket to defend his seat .
Speaking at a function in Kampala on Tuesday where he was unveiled as PFF flag bearer for the same position , Nsubuga said NUP leadership had not appreciated his contribution to the party and it was pointless to continue with them .
“ I have put in a lot to build NUP and I was among the people who were badly beaten during the recent chaotic by -election in Kawempe North Constituency ,but it is unfortunate that the leaders at Kavule[NUP headquarters ] choose to give the ticket to another person ,” he said
Nsubuga has history of switching political allegiance whenever an election cycles draws nearer . He was formerly a Democratic Party member and when NUP was formed in 2020 he crossed and got the party ticket .
