Kyabazinga becomes Salongo as Queen Mutesi delivers twins


JINJA. The ethnic Basoga, one the traditional kingdoms in Uganda are overjoyed over news about their King, Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV and Queen Jovia Mutesi got twins .


The royal twins—Prince William Ethan Nadiope and Prince Arnold Eli Nadiope—were born on August 27, 2025, accoding to a statement issued by the kingdom on Monday
In a statement the Kyabazinga expressed deep joy and gratitude over the births.


“With profound joy and heartfelt gratitude, I am delighted to formally announce the birth of our twin sons… The arrival of the newborns marks a deeply cherished milestone in our family’s journey, and we are overwhelmed and humbled by the magnitude of this double blessing,” he said, adding that both the twins and their mother were in excellent health.


Mr Joseph Kirunda ,a resident of Jinja City was upbeat about the development ,saying producing twins coming with blessings and the kingdom is destined for a brighter future .


The royal couple became husband and wife on November 18, 2023 during a ceremony held at Christ’s Cathedral in Bugembe, Jinja City.


The event—Busoga’s first official royal wedding since 1956—attracted thousands, including political leaders, traditional chiefs, and well-wishers from across the country.
