Mukono District has ushered in a new chapter of leadership following the official declaration of Lukooya Francis Mukoome as the LCV Chairperson for the 2026–2031 term after securing the highest number of votes in a hotly contested election.
His victory restores Mukono’s original political standing, with the NRM once again taking leadership at the very top of the District Moments after the declaration, scenes of joy, excitement, and celebration swept through Mukono Town as supporters poured into the streets to celebrate the milestone.
Speaking shortly after being declared, *Chairperson-elect Lukooya Francis Mukoome said, “This victory belongs to the people of Mukono. I thank you for the trust you have placed in me and in the NRM. I pledge inclusive leadership, service delivery, and unity for the development of our district.”
NRM leaders and supporters hailed the outcome as a sign of renewed confidence in the party’s leadership and vision, noting that Mukono is now firmly aligned with government programs aimed at transformation and service delivery.
As celebrations continue, many residents described the moment as historic, with a shared message of hope and renewal.
