The Ministry of Works & Transport has suspended the operations of Y.Y Coaches for 15 days following recent road crashes involving the company’s buses. The suspension comes after a directive from the Minister of State for Works & Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama.

A thorough inspection of all Y.Y Coaches buses is currently underway at the Namanve Motor Vehicle Inspection Station. The inspection aims to ensure the company’s buses meet safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

The suspension follows a series of road crashes involving Y.Y Coaches buses on major highways, including the Katosi—Kyetume—Nyenga/Njeru and Pakwach—Arua highways. The Ministry’s swift action demonstrates its commitment to prioritizing road safety and protecting the lives of passengers and other road users.

Y.Y Coaches will remain suspended for 15 days, allowing the Ministry to conduct a full compliance audit and thorough investigations. The company will only be allowed to resume operations once it meets the necessary safety standards and regulatory requirements.
