President Museveni ,who makes 81 years in September is excited that his wife Janet has had good life .
Janet, who turned 77 on Tuesday ,is the Minister for Education and Sports in her husband’s government and former Ruham County legislator in Ntungamo District.
In a post on his microblogging account X (formerly Twitter ) on Tuesday Mr Museveni congratulated Janet upon reaching her 77th Birth Day .
“To all the Musevenis, the Basiita, the Bayoombo, all the Bazzukulu of Uganda and all the other Ugandans, I greet you. It is my pleasure to inform all of you that today, the 24th of June, is the 77th birthday of my dear wife, Ginga (grandmother), Mummy (Mother), Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, the First Lady of Uganda.
On behalf of the many, I congratulate her and praise the Almighty God for giving her a long life and pray to the Almighty to give her many more years,”he said
Mr Museveni said his wife has been a strong pillar of the family especially between 1981-1986 when she was a sole parent to the young Musevenis.
“Diana being only 6 months in 1981. She[Janet ] has also made her contribution to the spiritual, social, economic and political lives of Ugandans.
She, for instance, founded UWESO that has been caring for the orphans in Uganda ever since. In politics, she brought stable leadership in Ruhaama. Praised be the Lord for her life and contribution.” The President added
The Musevenis never used to celebrate their birthdays 35 years ago until recently when it become a fixture on their annual programme .In most cases ,of recent they throw bigger parties and invited guests wine and dine. Happy Birthday Mama Janet
