WAKISO. Wakiso District Speaker Najja Nasif has secured the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket for the district chairperson seat ahead of next year’s General Elections .
The ticket was hotly contested between Najja and Ssempala Kigozi aka Sajjalyabeene , the former Makindye Ssabagabo legislator .
The youthful Najja will now tussle it out with Eng.Ian Kyeyune ,the former district chairperson and other contenders endorsed by other political parties .
It is not yet clear whether Mr Sajjalyabeene will contest as an independent. Mr Sajjalyabeene joins Hajj Latif Sebaggala –both veteran politicians , who failed to secure the party ticket for Kawempe Division Mayor in Kampala .
