NRM Youth Leaders Push for Parliamentary Election of Speaker

An amalgamation of Nrm leaders network under the umbrallar of NRM Revolutionary Network want the Speaker of Parliament to be elected by the contribution of the entire Parliament other than being appointed by the central executive committee.

This youth countrywide representation made these claims during a press conference held at Kati kati Hotel in Kampala.

Mugisha Edgar Stuart representing Shema youth says that the election of the Speaker of Parliament should be curried on through primaries involving both Nrm and opposition members of Parliament instead of mandating the appoint for the Speakership of Parliament to the Central Executive Committee adding that this could give oppotunity to all legistilators to elect the Speaker commmissioners and leaders of business in Parliament.

Kazibwe Jamiru the Chairman of the Nrm Revolutionary Network among others are also proposing that Parliament also adopts the Presidentisl electoral college system and amend that Parliament elects the president to avoid the to too much expenditure in the presidential campaigns, insecurity and hypocrisy.

In a related development they are also seeking for a referendum for the public to decide on the presidential election by parliament or maintain the Presidential electoral College.
