KASSANDA. At least one person died and three others injured when a truck lost control and overturned in Kassanda District.
The Saturday afternoon (2pm) crash happened at Lujongode Hill Village along Kalagala Bira Road,Kassanda District involving Izuzu Canter Reg.No. UBG490Q .
Police identified the deceased as Binaisa John, 45 a resident of Bwanja Village Kasanda District who was driving the ill-fated vehicle.
It’s alleged that the driver while driving from Kalagala to Bira , lost control and overturned off the road.
Preliminary findings indicate suspected speeding as the cause of the crash .
“The scene was examined and documented by our traffic task team. Postmortem has been done and the body of the deceased has been handed over to relatives for a decent burial ,” Ms Racheal Kawala , the Wamala Regional Police spokesperson said in a statement
“We warn against speeding at hills due to the higher risk of accidents in such terrain .
Drivers are encouraged to slow down ,exercise caution and avoid risky behaviors while driving.” She added
