Panic as machete wielding thugs hack Mukono school director

Police in Mukono District have launched an investigation into the incident that involved three unidentified machete wielding men hacking a school’s director to narrowly survive death.
The victim has been identified as Geoffrey Mayanja Ssezibwa, the proprietor of JesJohnny Primary School in Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality.


Preliminary investigations indicate that Mayanja was on his routine jogging near the school premises when three unidentified machete -wielding men attacked him and started hacking his head, hands and legs forcing him to unconsciously collapse bleeding profusely .


“The assailants who were on a motor cycle with unknown registration number plate cut him on the head, hands and legs and stole his Samsung Note 10 phone and a Good Samaritans took him to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital where he’s currently admitted” Patrick Onyango, the Police Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Area explains


Onyango also indicates that they’ve leads that may help them arrest the culprits .
The hospital director, Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital Dr. Joyce Nanoozi notes the victim had lost a lot of blood by the time he was brought to the facility resulting from the several head-cuts he sustained .


“Our committed team of doctors including the Neural surgeon have examined him, he has done the CT-scan to examine the extent of damage to the skull and the bleeding has been contained and I can surely confirm he’s out of danger pending further management” Dr. Nanoozi explains.


Ms. Peninah Nakabuye, the wife to the victim has implored police to expedite the investigations and bring the perpetrators to book
“We’re in fear because we do not know the real motive of the attackers and it is only police that can allay our fears after concluding their investigations” Nakabuye explains.


George Fred Kagimu, the former mayor for Mukono Municipality also MP hopeful for Mukono Municipality asked government to install more security cameras in black spots to reduce crime
“Our people are being terrorized by machete wielding men moving on motorcycles and this trend can only be stopped if more security cameras are installed in especially black spots to curb criminal elements dodging the hand of the law” Kagimu emphasized.
