Motorists using the Kampala Northern Bypass have been advised to expect temporary traffic changes as maintenance works commence tomorrow, February 17, 2026, on the Namugoona–Bwaise section.
According to the Ministry of Works and Transport, preparations for the works have already been completed, including the installation of barricades to temporarily close off part of the dual carriageway. The measures are aimed at creating a safe working environment for the contractor while ensuring that traffic continues to flow through a designated lane within the work zone.
The Ministry emphasized that the temporary arrangements are necessary to facilitate smooth and safe execution of the maintenance activities without causing a complete shutdown of the busy route.
Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys in advance and exercise caution when approaching the affected section. Drivers are advised to follow traffic guidance, observe all posted signs, and reduce speed to enhance safety for both road users and workers on site.
The Namugoona–Bwaise stretch is a critical segment of the bypass, serving thousands of commuters daily. Authorities have called for public cooperation to minimize disruptions and ensure the success of the maintenance exercise.
