MASAKA.

The regional coordinator of Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Issa Nsubuga has gone into hiding after allegedly misusing a gun .
According to police, Nsubuga was over the weekend hired by Twaha Kakembo ,a businessman in Butenga C, Butenga Sub County , Bukomansimbi District to help him resolve land dispute with his siblings .The piece of land is also located in the same area .

On reaching the disputed land Kakembo’s siblings engaged in physical confrontation with Nsubuga prompting him to pull out a pistol and started firing several bullets in the air to scare them off .
By firing bullets, police say Nsubuga was intending to evict Kakembo’s siblings from the land .

Southern Regional Police Spokesperson, Mr Twaha Kasirye, a case of threatening violence has since been opened against Nsubuga at Butenga Police Station .
“Our detectives are also investigating how he [Nsubuga] acquired the pistol which he moves with ,”he said in an interview on Wednesday
Ms Mariam Nagujja, a member of the family claims that by the time Nsubuga confronted them , he was armed with a machete and a pistol.
As they attempt to fight him , Nagujja said Nsubuga pulled out his pistol and fired bullets in the air . She revealed that the now controversial piece of land is part of the family estate left behind by their late father Twaha Ssesanga

“He[Nsubuga] is acting with impunity and one wonders how Nsubuga drives a vehicle without a registered number plate and no police traffic officer stops him on highways ,” said
The state minister for youths and children’s affairs Balaamu Barugahara and vice chairperson of PLU in charge of Western Uganda has since clarified that Nsubuga did it in his individual capacity and not on behalf of PLU .

PLU is a political outfit started by the First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba ,but when he was appointed Chief of Defense Forces last year ,he relinquished the chairpersonship of the group and Michael Nuwagira aka Toyota , President Museveni’s younger brother took over.

Mr Barugahara asked police in Masaka to arrest Nsubuga and also investigate how he obtained the pistol. Nsubuga’s known telephone numbers have been off since Monday and his where about remain unknown.
