Police raise bounty for Entebbe couple killer from Shs50m to Shs60m


Police have announced increased a cash reward for any one ready to provide information leading to the arrest of the prime suspect behind the gruesome murder of couple David Mutaaga and his wife Deborah Florence Mutaaga. The bounty has been raised from the initial Shs50million to now Shs60million.


The Mutaagas, described as well-known and respected in their community at Lugonjo, Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe, were found murdered under mysterious circumstances inside their home on Sunday, July 6, 2025,just weeks after they had returned from oversees where they had lived for over two decades ,looking for better lives
Since July security agencies have been working closely together to track down those who were behind this gruesome murder .


Initial Police investigations indicated the attacker scaled the perimeter wall using an electric pole before breaking into the house, where both victims were fatally stabbed to death .

The attackers did not take valuables from the home.
While investigations led to the arrest of two domestic workers, Angela Nakalema and David Golooba, who remain under interrogation, Police maintain the prime suspect remains at large.


Speaking to journalists on Monday, September 15 , Uganda Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma said security agencies continue to search for the killers of the couple .


“The Uganda Police Force continues to search for those responsible for the murder of Mr and Mrs Mutaaga in Entebbe. We initially offered a reward of Shs50million shillings for information leading to the arrest of the suspect , whose photo and voice we have shared . This reward has now been increased to Shs60million ,” he said
He also refuted media reports that police had identified the actual suspects.


“For clarification , we highlighted individuals whom our investigative sources suspect may be connected to the crime . Once conclusive evidence is established against any suspect(s) ,we will formally release their details to the public” he added


Two months ago Police released a 24-second audio clip and blurry CCTV footage showing a masked male suspect clad in black and maroon attire, reportedly ordering the couple to go to the hospital shortly before their murder.


The Uganda Police are now appealing to members of the public with “any information that could assist in locating and apprehending the suspect, to call +256-769 675 918.”
