Police release traffic plan ahead of NRM delegates Conference


KAMPALA. The traffic police has released the traffic plan ahead of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Delegates Conference .


The party is expected to elect its national leaders between August 27 and August 28 ahead of next year’s general elections .


President Museveni ,the party presidential candidate and also party chairperson and NRM national vice chairperson have already been elected unopposed .


According to Mr Michael Kananura , the spokesperson of the Traffic Police, to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhanced security, there are going to diversions in Kololo area where the conference is taking place .


Ssezibwa – Golf Course/Fairway – Kololo Ceremonial Grounds will be open to normal traffic while John Babiiha Road (Acacia Avenue) Jinja Road, Acacia Road to Golf Course will only be accessible only to VVIPs .

Lower Kololo Terrace, Upper Kololo Terrace will be cut off for vehicles from Lugogo. Motorists will instead be using Archer Road to access Jinja Road. Wampewo Avenue will be closed at: Housing Finance Bank Kololo Traffic Lights.


VVIPs who will access the ceremonial Grounds through Eastern Gate via Wampewo Avenue and Park inside the Grounds


However ,other delegates will park their vehicles at City High School and Hotel Africana

We urge the public & participants Follow directions from traffic and security officers on duty. Exercise patience and discipline to ensure a successful and peaceful event.

Adhere strictly to parking designations and route diversions. Plan your journeys in advance to avoid inconveniences Mr Kananura said
