Post Bank Positions Itself as a Leader in Climate-Smart Finance at Inaugural NaPSEF Forum

KAMPALA — PostBank Uganda is positioning itself as a frontrunner in sustainable and climate-smart finance, following its active participation in the first-ever National Private Sector Engagement Forum on Climate Finance (NaPSEF 1), held under the theme “Advancing Private Sector Leadership in Climate Finance Mobilization.”

As a sponsor of this pioneering forum, PostBank used the platform to reaffirm its commitment to promoting green finance while driving inclusive economic growth. The bank was represented by Doreen Asaasira Muhangazi, FCIPD, its Chief People and Strategy Officer, who delivered a strong message on the institution’s evolving role in climate-resilient banking.

“At PostBank, we exist not just to serve today’s Uganda, but to create lasting impact for generations to come,” Muhangazi stated. “Our financial inclusion efforts, extensive grassroots reach, and support to MSMEs uniquely position us to champion climate-smart investments across the country.”

She commended the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Uganda for crafting timely policy frameworks that support climate finance, and she highlighted the bank’s recent recognition under the Agricultural Credit Facility (ACF) as a key milestone in aligning sustainability with profitability.

PostBank’s participation signals a growing shift among Ugandan financial institutions to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into their core business models. With ongoing investments in green finance and community-driven impact, the bank is committed to advancing climate resilience and sustainable development in Uganda’s private sector.

The forum marked a significant step toward strengthening collaboration between financial institutions, government, and development partners in the drive to unlock climate financing and accelerate Uganda’s transition to a green economy.
